Medjugorje, after 25th June 1981., when six children witnessed the apparition of The Queen of Peace, has become a meeting point for pilgrims from all over the world. Our Lady’s messages, full with maternal love, reminds what the believer and the whole Church must do: to convert yourself, to pray and to fast. To decide for God and put Him on the first place in the life of believer means to fallow the path of Jesus’ mother Mary. The centre of sacramental and prayer life of pilgrims in Medjugorje are the Church of St. James, Apparition Hill where for the first time visionaries saw Our Lady and the Cross Mountain - Krizevac on whose top in 1934 people from Medjugorje raised 8,56 m high Cross, and engraved the words: “To Jesus Christ, Redeemer of the human race, as a sign of their faith, love and hope, in remembrance of the 1900 years since the death of Jesus”. Although the Church hasn’t yet said their attitude about apparitions, many believers who come from all around the world receive attention and pastoral care of priests in order to promote a healthy devotion towards the Blessed Virgin Mary in accordance with the teaching of the Church.
