Croatian Post Mostar has issued a commemorative stamp issue “Let’s celebrate sports” with the football (soccer) motif.
Numerous studies on the popularity of sports have shown that football (soccer) is the most popular sport in the world. It brings together people from different backgrounds in the spirit of sports and creates a strong sense of community, while being accessible to everyone without requiring special conditions. Events such as the FIFA World Cup help bridge differences among people, as they all share the same passion while cheering for their teams.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup – North America is the first World Cup to be hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The opening ceremony will take place on June 11th at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. The final match will be played on July 19th at MetLife Stadium in New York.
The stamp design's author is Ivica Madžar. The stamps are printed in sheets of 8 stamps and two vignettes, also followed by a commemorative postmark and first day cover (FDC). The nominal value is 3,80 BAM and the first day of issue is June 11th, 2026. This issue, as well as previous stamp issues, may be purchased in post offices and online www.epostshop.ba .
